Conference Concept

Globally, Rainfed farming is practiced in about 80% of cultivated land and contributes 60% of world food. In India, rainfed agriculture occupy about 50% of net cultivated area, practiced in diverse agro-ecologies and contributes 40% of country's food basket and dominant producer of oilseeds, cotton, jute and allied fibres. In India, contribution of rainfed production to nutritious cereals and pulses is about 84-87%, cotton- 60% and 77% in oilseeds and support 60% of livestock and 40% of human population..

General Information

About Hyderabad city

Hyderabad (5th Largest City in India), is the capital city of Telangana State (3rd Largest State in India). Hyderabad was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah in 1591 on the banks of Musi. Today the city covers an area of approximately 650 square km.

Time Zone

India has a single time zone. It is 5.5 hours ahead of the GMT, 4.5 hours behind the Australian Eastern Standard time and 11.5 hours ahead of American Eastern Standard Time (winter).

Weather

Weather during the conference period from 22-24 December 2022 would be very pleasant mostly dry and cool with mean minimum temperature ranging from 10 to 15 degree Celsius and maximum mean temperature around 28 degrees Celsius

Language

The official language of Hyderabad is Telugu but there are various other regional languages spoken by the people of the state of Telangana. English is used for official and commercial purposes. Most people on the streets understand and converse in English. The other languages popular here in Hyderabad are Urdu and Hindi.
